A Spanish journalist, who had been held by the Islamic State (IS) for more than six months, has revealed that he was subjected to mock executions, torture and other sadistic mind games with Jihadi John taking the charge along with others.

Javier Espinosa recalled that British jihadist Mohammed Emwazi, also known as Jihadi John, once held a blade to his neck and said, "Feel it? Cold, isn't it? Can you imagine the pain you'll feel when it cuts? Unimaginable pain," New York Post reported.

The El Mundo reporter added that the IS executioner derived "incredible pleasure" in describing a sliced jugular during this mock execution. Espinosa quoted Jihadi John as saying, "The first hit will sever your veins. The blood mixes with your saliva." The militant further explained that the second cut would open the neck and at this point, the victim would not be able to breathe through the nose but just the throat, making "amusing guttural sounds."

Jihadi John then mocked the victims by saying that all of them squirmed like animals, pigs and added that the third blow would severe the head from the body, which would then be placed on the victim's back, Espinosa said.

The Spanish journalist was on an assignment for a Spanish daily when he was taken hostage by the IS in September 2013. He was released in March 2014 after being held captive for 194 days.
