An Indian ex-employee at software giant Microsoft's corporate headquarters in Washington has been reportedly charged with raping a janitor at his office.

Vineet Kumar Srivastava, 36, a former programming manager at the company allegedly called the woman in his office, molested her, showed her pornographic images on his cellphone and then raped her, the New York Daily News reports.

According to authorities, Srivastava blocker the woman from leaving her office and raped her for several minutes.

However, Srivastava said that the woman had forced him to have sex and he was afraid of her but had gone to his car for a condom.

The report said that he was arrested on July 26 but freed the next day on 75,000 dollars bail and his indictment is scheduled to begin later this month.

Microsoft spokesperson said that Srivastava has been fired.

The court documents said that the victim had reported the alleged assault to a male supervisor who discounted her claims but she then turned to a female supervisor who then called the police, the report added.
