Former Pakistani Test cricketer Wajahatullah Wasti has advised the current players of the team not to bother about playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the seventh edition of which is underway at the UAE.

According to The Nation, Wasti said the Pakistani players should boycott the IPL, even if they got a chance to play as they all are high profile players and should keep their self-respect.

Wasti, however, said that as India is currently undergoing general elections, Pakistani players might get a chance to participate in the IPL when the new government would come into power in the country.

Agreeing with Wasti, former fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz said that it was better for Pakistani players not to get a chance to participate in the IPL due to security reasons, adding that Pakistani players are world class cricketers and better than those playing in the IPL.
