Former Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has denied reports of his government approving U.S. drone strikes on his country's soil, but didn't rule out the possibility of secret deals being made without his knowledge.

Gilani, who remained in power from 2008 to June 2012, said Pakistan has been against drone strikes since the beginning, and has conveyed this view to the U.S. on all forums, the Washington Post reports.

The statement came in response to the revelation made on Thursday disclosing top-secret CIA files which showed Washington and Islamabad had shared all details of drone strikes that happened from 2007 to 2011 in the tribal regions of Pakistan.
