Former South Africa batsman Neil McKenzie has reportedly announced his retirement from cricket after scoring an unbeaten double-ton in his final first class match.

McKenzie hit an unbeaten double-century in his final first class match as the domestic side Highveld Lions celebrated their Sunfoil Series crowning with an innings and 51-run victory over the Warriors at the Wanderers on Sunday, Sport24 reported.

McKenzie's innings brought a fitting end to his 20-year long first-class career in which the batsman scored 19,041 runs, with 53 tons at an average of 45.77.

The right-hander played 58 Tests for South Africa, scoring 3,253 runs at an average of 37.39 and also featured in 64 ODIs, scoring 1,688 runs at 37.51, as well as two Twenty20 internationals, the report added.
