Ex-servicemen says Govt. must agree to OROP concept prior to meeting Parrikar

A delegation of ex-servicemen will meet Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar over solving the deadlock on the one-rank-one-pension (OROP) scheme on Saturday made it clear that the government must accept the concept of the scheme.

"We demand that the OROP to be implemented for those who have taken the VRS, the family pensioners, and in the disability pension also, because this remains the concept of the OROP, and if the government accepts this concept, then we are open to the discuss the proposal" said Major General (Retired) Satbir Singh, the chairman of the Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement (IESM).

"According to the sources, we have been told that the government is making a plan to implement the OROP, our delegation is going to meet the defence minister," he added.

 

"We will go with all the option open, we will take the decision after the meeting and we let you know our decision" he told media.

This is the 84th the day of agitation for the implementation of OROP.
