The five leading Tibetan Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in exile held a joint press conference in Dharamshala to mark their protest against Chinese Premier Xi Jinping's oppressive rule in Tibet.
The Communist Party of China is currently preparing for their 19th Party Congress, scheduled to begin on October 19.
The representative of various Tibetan NGOs like Tibetan Youth Congress, Tibetan Women's Association, Students for a Free Tibet, National Democratic Party of Tibet and Gu Chu Sum (an association of former Political Prisoners of Tibet) were gathered for the joint press conference here.
Addressing the media, NGOs representative said, "When Xi Jinping was appointed as president of Communist Party of China, many around the world hoped for positive change and the relaxation of the harsh policies in Tibet, however, Xi has failed to live up to these expectations and hopes."
"The situation in Tibet has gone from bad to worse with increased censorship, violation of basic human rights and the denial of freedom of religion and the right to study the Tibetan language," they added.
The representatives further highlighted that the Communist Party of China (CCP) appointed their members as part of the management committee of Larung Gar to further control its grip over the region.
"There were even restrictions placed on organising religious ceremonies," They said.
One of the NGO representatives told ANI that, "Based on the Xi Jingping's tenure, we have no positive expectation from him and he is trying to project himself as a more progressive leader, however, in reality we are exposing his face, that he is a murderer and under his regime so many people inside Tibet, whether political prisoner, activists and lawyers, all are getting arrested."
He also urged the international community to further strengthen their voice against Jingping's rise.
The representatives further stated that the freedom of using internet is considered as a basic need to express individual rights around the, but censorship in Tibet has become worse.
"We the five Tibet NGOs strongly protest Xi's leadership in the years to come and will continue our freedom struggle until justice is serve for Tibet," they said.
