Former foreign minister Dipu Moni on Sunday hailed the relationship between New Delhi and Dhaka and said that the growing bond is 'wonderful' for South Asia.

"The protocol to our 1974 Land Boundary Agreement was signed in Dhaka between the two Foreign Ministers in presence of the two Prime Ministers and India has now ratified it. With this historic visit, I think we are taking the relationship one step ahead. It is cooperation 360 degrees on every aspect and every issue," Moni told ANI.

"It is not only useful and necessary in the Indo-Bangladesh relationship, I think it is wonderful for the whole of South Asia... We have done what is required on Teesta issue, I am sure the agreement will be signed," she added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Saturday, exchanged instruments of ratification of the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) settling the 41-year-old land boundary dispute on Saturday.

The two Prime Ministers also flagged off two transboundary buses linking Guwahati to Dhaka via Shillong and Kolkata to Tripura via Dhaka.
