Experts on Friday called for a probe against school where students were forced to strip to check their menstrual status helath.
High Court Advocate and former Chairperson of Maharashtra State Women's Commission, Nirmala Samant condemned the incident in Digri, asserting that it was a shocking incident.
"It is a shocking incident. The warden of the school has made the girls remove their panties to see the blood stains relating to their private parts. It has shocked the media and the school," Samant told ANI.
The incident took place in Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School which had led to protests by the families of the students.
"However the warden has given her explanation and denied the incident. Since the girls have complained in majority, things have to be taken seriously and a proper investigation has to be done," Samant added.
Social activist Ruby Mukherjee said, "The mental health of the wardens of both girls and boys schools should be checked up in a regular interval of 3-4 months. Although the warden has been suspended but the students have been traumatized by this incident.
