Explosions have been heard in eastern Ukraine, a day after the government forces and pro-Russian separatists signed a ceasefire agreement.

According to the BBC, the Red Cross said that aid trucks had turned back due to explosions in the eastern edges.

The ceasefire deal was signed during discussions between Russian and Ukrainian authorities, pro-Russian rebels in Belarus and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

In the early hours of Sunday, shelling had been stopped. However, it had resumed 24 hours after the truce deal was signed.

The human rights group said that civilians had accused government forces of starting violence and committing war crimes in the area.
