French racing car driver legend Alain Prost has expressed his disapproval of offering the double points at Abu Dhabi title showdown for being artificial, which is scheduled to be held this weekend.

F1 legend Prost said that he was never in favour of the idea of awarding double points at the final race due to its artificiality. He further said that people are always interested about statistics in Formula One, but they are always changing and should be kept stable, reported News.co.nz.

The four-time F1 world champion also said that he was also critical of awarding 25 points to the winner rather than 10, which was started in 2010.

Currently, the double-points scheme would increase Rosberg's chances of emerging victorious ahead of Hamilton in Abu Dhabi GP, with the winner receiving 50 points instead of the usual 25.
