A day after the arrest of former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar, the Congress Party has demanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation on moral grounds.

Congress spokesperson P C Chacko told ANI that Kejriwal has been shielding Tomar and not taking any action against him despite being aware of him possessing a fake law degree.

"The chief minister is more guilty than the person being accused, CM was shielding him, on moral grounds CM should resign...It's a moral question on part of Arvind Kejriwal, he knew his law minister was possessing a fake degree, but no action was taken," Chacko told ANI.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia will be meeting Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung today.

Tomar, however, has stated that his degree is not fake and blamed his arrest on a conspiracy by the Centre.
