Fake Rs. 2000 notes dispensed from SBI ATM: One arrested from UP

One person was on Thursday arrested from Uttar Pradesh' Pratapgarh district in connection with a fake Rs. 2000 currency note which was dispensed from an SBI ATM in Delhi.

The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Isha, 27. He is an employee of Brinks Arya Pvt. Ltd. which is responsible for installing currency notes in ATMs.

Isha was the custodian of the cash at the time it was being filled inside the ATM machine.

Yesterday, a call center employee registered a complaint at the Sangam Vihar Police Station in the national capital when he withdrew Rs 8,000. However, the withdrawn notes were found to be fake.

 

The fake note read "Children Bank of India" in English and "Bharatiya Manoranjan Bank" in Hindi.
