Families spend barely half an hour of quality time together on weekdays as the demands of modern life have escalated, a new survey has revealed.
The research also found that parents and kids get together for less than eight hours throughout the week, the Daily Express reported.
On weekends an average of two hours and 20 minutes was given to family time but in the week, it came down to just 36 minutes a day.
The lack of time was blamed on parents long working hours, household chores, visiting clubs and attending school.
When families do manage to get together, many just spend the time watching TV in silence.
Grandparents also missed out with their families visiting just six times a year.
As per the poll, which was conducted for Virgin Holidays and Universal Orlando Resort, over 1,000 parents said their only 'real' time together, was on holiday.
