Fans cheered and celebrated the release of Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan's much anticipated movie 'Uttama Villain' in Chennai on Saturday.
The movie, which was supposed to hit the screens yesterday, faced roadblock before its release due to financial issues.
The enthusiastic fans from the neighbouring southern states were extremely disappointed yesterday morning when they reached Chennai to find out that the release of the movie has been delayed.
"We are so happy. We have been waiting for this film since yesterday morning. We went to all the theatres yesterday and we were completely disappointed. But at this moment we are very very happy and we are enjoying the show with our family," said Jagadeesh, a fan.
Different film units like Tamil Film Producers' Council, South Indian Artistes' Association and a director's body met to resolve the issue so that the fans could watch the movie they had waited for.

South Indian actor R. Sarathkumar, who is also the president of South Indian Artistes' Association, announced the settlement after 24 hours of negotiations.
"The issue was such that it came to light only about 3.00 a.m. yesterday. From 3.00 a.m. we had people around to sit and talk and get everybody together and that was the issue. The deliberation had to be done, the paper work had to be done. So, it has been done," said Sarathkumar.
Another reason for the delay was a protest by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists, who alleged that the movie hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus. However, their petition was rejected by a local court.
'Uttama Villain', which has been directed by Ramesh Aravind, also stars legendary filmmaker late K. Balachander, Nassar, Pooja Kumar, Urvashi and Jayaram besides others. The soundtrack album and the background score of the film has been composed by M. Ghibran.
