Fans mark 20 years of 'Ghulam'

Famous for the song 'Aati Kya Khandala,' Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee-starrer 'Ghulam' has clocked 20 years of its release.

This Vikram Bhatt directorial hit the theatres on June 19, 1998, and turned out to be a huge success at the box office.

Fans of the stars took to Twitter to celebrate its anniversary.

A fan wrote, "I remember i was a kid when i saw #20YearsOfGhulam and i just loved this movie, even today i can say it is one of the finest movie of #AamirKhan, the song the story the dialogues everything was top notch, and in this 20 years, Aamir Khan became the country's biggest star."

 

Talking about its music, a fan tweeted, "The music was composed by Jatin-Lalit. The soundtrack became famous for the song "Aati Kya Khandala", sung by Aamir Khan and Alka Yagnik. The film's soundtrack album sold 2.5 million units in India, making it the year's 5th best-selling Bollywood soundtrack album #20YearsOfGhulam."

Another twitterer uploaded the video of the iconic train scene and wrote, "This film is very close to my heart as it is the film that transformed me into a big @aamir_khan fan. Still get goosebumps when I see the train stunt as it was only 1.3 seconds difference. Also first time he did playback singing it became such a rage. Respect #20YearsOfGhulam."

Another user posted the look of Aamir from the movie.

Praising Aamir's role, a user wrote, "#20YearsOfGhulam @aamir_khan proved he can pull off a macho action role with elan playing to the gallery #Aatikyakhandala with train race track n climax action scenes immortalized forever @AamirKhanIndFC @AAMIRKHANFANS @AamirKhan_Team @AamirKhanFC @AamirKhanTrends @aamirkhan_CHN."

The movie is an action crime drama film and was the remake of 1988 film, 'Kabzaa.
