Bollywood director and actor Farhan Akhtar flagged off marathon in Jaipur to promote cleanliness and encourage people to make their city clean and green.
The marathon was promoted by Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), and entered into fifth successful year.
Around 50,000 people participated in the marathon, which included people of all ages.
"Jaipur marathon was started five years back so that the people of Jaipur love their city and we too have marathons in Delhi and Mumbai. Now you can see 50,000 people participated in the event, people were enthusiastic and people from all over the country took part in it and we are trying to influence them to make Jaipur clean and green city," said an organiser, Suryakant Singh.
Thousands of enthusiasts from all over the country took part in the marathon.
"I am here with my son and my grand children. We are here to participate in the cleanliness drive. We want Jaipur to be clean and green," said a participant, Anil Kumar.
