Farhan Akhtar 'permanently' deletes Facebook account

ANI New Delhi [India]

Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has 'permanently' quit social networking site Facebook.

The move, it seems, follows the shocking reports of Facebook's data breach.

Without mentioning the reason, the 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' star took to Twitter to inform his fans and followers about his decision.

"Good morning. This is to inform you all that I have permanently deleted my personal Facebook account. However, the verified FarhanAkhtarLive page is still active," he tweeted on Tuesday.

For the unversed, Cambridge Analytica, the political data firm with ties to United States President Donald Trump's 2016 election campaign, is under fire for allegedly gaining access to private information of more than 50 million Facebook users, and influencing elections by using this stolen data.
