A farmer committed suicide in remote village by hanging from the branch of a tree in his own field after rain and hail destroyed his yield.
The farmer's body was found by his wife when he was returning after fetching water.
"Yesterday he was saying my mind is not working. Then in the morning we went to the field and he then asked him to go fetch water and when I returned I saw him nowhere and then after some time I saw him hanging from a tree," said Radha Bai, the wife of the deceased farmer.
Confirming the death Dr Masood Akhtar, district collector, said the police are still investigating the details.
"Baldev bura Prajapati, who was 55 years old, has committed suicide. He hanged himself," said Akhtar
Akhtar added that the farmer's yield was destroyed in the recent climatic upheaval.
"He had bought around one or quarter to one acres of land and he had sowed wheat, linseed and lentil crop but the crop was destroyed by the climatic conditions in the region (due to rain and hailstorm). He is a native of Uttar Pradesh but still we have given him a compensation of Rs 10, 000," said Akhtar.
