Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said there was a general feeling among the farmers he met that they have been abandoned by the government.
"There is a feeling of being abandoned between the farmers. The farmers feel that they have been given up on. MSP, bonus are some concerns that they have," said Rahul
"General feeling is that the way the farmers should be helped is not happening. We don't have a huge capacity to help farmers," he added.
Rahul, who met family members of a distressed farmer during his 'kisan padyatra' earlier today, reiterated that the Central government was working for the industrialists.
"My interaction with farmers was disturbing. This government is not a government for small businesses, the poor, the needy or the farmers. It's a government for industrialists," he said.
"We will help as a party, but the government is ignoring the farmers all over the nation," Rahul further said.
