Farmers in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi District are reaping benefits from the breeding of Australian Emus.

Around 150 farms of emu birds are being operated across the state and they are attracting farmers with lucrative options.

The director of one of these emu farms, Sangeeta Yadav, said: "The future lies in the meat and oil business of emus. The oil cures paralysis, arthritis and any kind of pain. It helps in removing white patches on skin and the meat is 98 percent cholesterol free. The meat is very healthy for the heart."
