Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer has hailed Wimbledon champion Andy Murray's 'great choice' of appointing Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo as his new coach.
Federer, who will defend his only title of the 2013 season in the pre-Wimbledon warm-up event at Halle this week, said that Murray's surprise decision to hire Mauresmo was interesting.
According to Sport24, the former world number one said that there had been rumours in Paris about Murray and Mauresmo working together.
The record 17-time Grand Slam winner said that he feels that it is very interesting and great and that only time would tell if it is going to be successful or not.
Federer added that Murray has always been open to try out things or go in a different direction with Ivan Lendl, with Brad Gilbert as well and currently with Mauresmo, who is a former women's world number one.
Federer further added that he has always enjoyed watching her play and she is a true professional, which makes Mauresmo a great choice and the Swiss hopes that Murray and the Frenchwoman are going to be a successful team together.
