Swiss ace Roger Federer has managed to qualify for the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals following his 6-4 6-4 win over South African Kevin Anderson in the second round of the Paris Masters.

The victory ensured that the 17-time Grand Slam champion, who has won just one tournament this season i.e the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, will participate at the season-ending event for the 12th consecutive year.

According to the BBC, Federer's win also made him equal tennis legend Ivan Lendl's record for successive appearances at the season finale.

However, Federer, who will play against German Philipp Kohlschreiber in the third round, said that he is a bit disappointed at the result as he believes that it could have gone 5-5, although he is confident that overall, he played a solid game.
