17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has said that he self-destructed in his fourth round loss to Spaniard Tommy Robredo, but said that credit could not be taken away from his opponent.

According to tennisworldusa.org, Federer expressed that he had started badly but even after coming back, he struggled throughout, which was not very satisfying, adding that Robredo did a good job to keep the ball in play and make it difficult for him.

The seven-time Wimbledon champion said that the last three months had been tough for him and he was still looking for consistency.

Federer said that sometimes the serve helps the player out in tough circumstances but he just could not do it in this match, adding that it was a frustrating performance.
