Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly congratulated Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, his old rival, for reaching his 1,000th game in charge of the club.
Ferguson reportedly revealed his admiration for Arsenal while praising Wenger and has said that he congratulates Wenger on reaching this 'momentous landmark'.
According to Sport24, Ferguson, who reached the same milestone at United, said that he cannot emphasise enough on the level of dedication, resilience and sacrifice required to achieve the milestone and for that he has the utmost admiration.
Despite the pair's intense rivalry as managers for five years following a match at Old Trafford in 2004, which ended a record 49 matches unbeaten by Arsenal, Wenger and Ferguson are now friends, the report added.
The former United boss also added that perhaps the biggest 'compliment' he can give to Wenger is that he can never be anything other than being competitive with the Arsenal boss for 17years.
Ferguson also said that he always enjoys watching Wenger's side adding that Arsenal plays the 'right way', the report added.
