Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has warned that he is ready to upset high-profile stars with the publication of his long-awaited autobiography this week.

According to the Mirror, Ferguson's book, titled My Autobiography, will be released on Thursday and the former United boss admitted he has pulled no punches with the disclosures within his account.

Former United skipper Roy Keane, as well as ex-Reds David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy, are expected to feature prominently in the book, in which Ferguson claimed he has not held back from speaking the truth, the report said.

United striker Wayne Rooney is also bracing himself for the revelations from Ferguson, after the former Old Trafford boss claimed at the end of last season that the England striker had asked to leave the club, the report added.

Ferguson said that the problem with doing a book is that one has to bring in the elements and factors, which in many ways either affected or determined one's decision-making.

He added that because he had been at the club for such a long time and building team after team, there were areas he could not ignore.

He also said that why the club sold certain players like Beckham and van Nistelrooy could not be ignored because these guys were big figures in Manchester United's career history.
