Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho has admitted that he is not sure whether he would ever recover from his side's 7-1 World Cup humiliation to Germany in the semifinal.

Fernandinho has reportedly been made one of the scapegoats for Brazil's 7-1 semifinal battering by Germany after he was substituted at halftime, with the hosts already 5-0 down, as the midfielder was badly at fault on some of the goals.

Fernandinho said that he is not sure how long it would take for him to get over the defeat, adding that the pain is extremely big, The Mirror reported.

The Manchester City midfielder said that all the squad can say is that they are sorry to the people of Brazil, adding that their fans wanted a good result, a win, the title, but the team lost in the semifinal and all they can do is say sorry for that.

Fernandinho said that the defeat was unbelievable, incredible things happened, adding that they can try to explain for the rest of their lives, but they cannot find the words.

He also said that they have never experienced anything like that in his life.

Fernandinho said that the most important thing currently is the psychological recovery and to recover for Saturday and the third-place playoff, to play to finish the World Cup in the best way the hosts can.
