Festival of India in Nepal: Punjabi folk dance entrances audience

The third event of the 'Festival of India' in Nepal saw a contemporary folk Punjabi dance performance on Tuesday at the Nepal Academy Hall here.

The performance was led by Harinder Pal and troop on February 26 as part of the month-long festival being organised by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Kathmandu with the support of the Indian Ministry of Culture.

Nepal's Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Nepal's transport minister were present at the do as Chief Guests.

India and Nepal share unique bonds of friendship characterized by deep-rooted, people-to-people contacts. People of both India and Nepal have nurtured common heritage of art, music, and cinema, evolving shared culture, since times immemorial. These cultural bonds have built solid bridges of friendship and understanding among the people of the two nations.

 

The Festival of India in Nepal, which started from February 19, aims at consolidating and strengthening the existing age-old relations between the two nations, reinforcing sensibilities, affinities and shared cultural bonds between the people.

The event will further contribute to sustaining and enhancing mutual understanding between India and Nepal.
