With the UNFCCC COP process working towards securing a legally-binding global climate change agreement on curbing global GHG emissions, to be made at COP 21 in December 2015, with a binding effect from 2020, the FICCI in view of the same is organising an interactive session with French special envoy for COP 21 along with Ambassador for International Climate Change Negotiations today.

The interactive session to be held at FICCI, Federation House, will be addressed by Nicolas Hulot, Special Envoy of the French President for the Protection of the Planet; Laurence Tubiana, Ambassador for International Climate Change Negotiations; Susheel Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.

François Richier, Ambassador of France to India; Kolluru Krishan, Co-Chair, FICCI Climate Change Task Force and Chairman, CVC India Infrastructure, will also be joining this interactive session.

The interactive session will see discussion on the general expectations of Indian businesses for COP 21, key opportunities and the challenges for the Indian industry arising from COP 21 and how to create a positive global ecosystem for stimulating international partnerships and cooperation for disseminating relevant climate-friendly technologies.
