FICCI to organize seminar on 'Protecting Brands Abroad with the Madrid System'

FICCI, in association with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and DIPP, is organizing a seminar on "Protecting Brands Abroad with the Madrid System" here on Monday.

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver the keynote address on the occasion.

Amitabh Kant, Secretary, DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry; Rajiv Agarwal, Joint Secretary, DIPP; Naresh Prasad, Assistant DG and Chief of Staff, WIPO and Sidharth Birla, Immediate Past President, FICCI and Chairman, Xpro India Ltd. will also address the inaugural session.

Given India's increasing number of globally recognized brands, the country has the potential to be one of the top users of the Madrid System. The program will introduce Indian companies and the trademark community to the benefits of the Madrid System, apart from focusing on business needs and will contain a walk-through of the international trademark registration procedure and recent developments under the Madrid System, as well as insights from the private sector.

 

There are other interesting sessions also lined up during the day to be addressed and attended by leading area experts and industry representatives.
