The fifth ODI between India and Australia to be played in Cuttack has been abandoned without a ball being bowled as incessant rains forced the umpires to take the decision even before the scheduled time of the match.
India will now have to win both the remaining matches if it has to win the seven-math series, with Australia currently up 2-1.
The rain had led to water logging and the Odisha Cricket Association had released a statement saying that the chances of the stadium's drying up were extremely remote.
The fourth ODI in Ranchi was also abandoned after heavy rains struck the ground.
