Film Director Oliver Stone has called National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden a hero, adding that he should be welcomed and offered asylum, but had no place to hide because every country was intimidated by the United States.

According to the New York Daily News, Stone went on to encourage foreign countries to offer asylum to Snowden, terming Obama's concern about hunting down Snowden a disgrace and urged him to rather reform the eavesdropping techniques.

Snowden is reportedly holed up in a Moscow airport waiting for a country to grant him asylum, with 12 out of 21 countries rejecting his requests, and Bolivia and Venezuela being possible landing places.
