Australian filmmaker Paul Cox has claimed that the 'Lawrence of Arabia' star Peter O'Toole, who recently passed away at the age of 81, was a much warmer human being than he showed the world.
Director of O'Toole-starrer 1999 movie 'Molokai: The Story of Father Damien' said that a lot of people had issues with O'Toole because he was funny, impulsive and extremely intelligent, but he never had any problems with him, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The 73-year-old filmmaker asserted that O'Toole, who had grown wraithlike in his later years because of years of hard drinking, was a very warm and wonderful person.
Cox insisted that he got along really well with O'Toole, adding that he was an original and had a strange sentimental streak.
