Australian batsman Aaron Finch is reportedly planning to replicate his devastating Twenty20 form in the first-class format to stake a claim for a Test spot in the future.

Finch, the world's top ranked T20 batsman, is currently one of the world's most devastating short-form batting blasters, although there is a widening disparity between Finch as a T20 and first-class batsman

According to News.com.au, Finch, a key part of Australia's ICC World T20 assault in Bangladesh, was touted as a potential Test candidate at the start of last winter although he was dropped by Victoria this season after five Sheffield Shield matches in which he only once passed 18.

However, Finch said that he has a new plan to release the shackles to help him stake a claim for a Test spot in the future, saying that he needs to play his natural game instead of being conservative and defensive in four-day cricket, adding that he will be an attacking player this season.

After playing in the World T20 and then with Hyderabad in the IPL, Finch will play an England county season with Yorkshire under former Australia paceman Jason Gillespie and he wants to use the English stint as a chance to improve his red-ball technique before the next Australian season.
