Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sadhvi Prachi has been booked by the Uttar Pradesh Police under different Sections of the Indian Penal Code for her remarks on Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Prachi made the speech on Wednesday while campaigning for BJP leader Rajpal Chauhan in Moradabad.
"We have filed a case under Sections 504 and 505 of the IPC based on a FIR against Sadhvi Prachi for a speech made at a gathering on September 10," said Moradabad DM Deepak Agarwal.
"The police have acted based on the first incident report. We will send a report on this matter to the Election Commission," added Senior Superintendent of Police PP Singh
Sadhvi Prachi had during her speech on Wednesday reportedly asked if Mulayam will forgive a culprit if his daughter is raped.
