A minor fire broke out at a slum cluster in Delhi's Andrews Ganj area on Wednesday evening after few cylinders exploded.
"The Delhi Fire Service got a call from slums at around 4:15 pm. Around 100 slums were under fire, but we controlled it in an hour. Nobody is injured, but the domestic items inside the slums have destroyed. Some cylinders have exploded, but exact number is not yet known. Nobody is either injured or dead and we have almost doused the fire," said a fireman.
The local residents, however, complained that the fire brigade reached the spot late.
"The fire brigade came late. As soon as we saw black smoke emitting out, we shouted of fire and quickly moved the cylinders out. Around six-seven cylinders have exploded, but the reason is not yet known," said Charan Singh, a local resident.
"We called the police, fire brigade, ambulance several times, but there was no response. The fire brigade came around half an hour late till then everything was destroyed," added another resident Badri Prasad Gupta.
