A massive fire broke out at an oil mill in Kanpur, leading to chaos and panic among the residents living nearby.
The Dulchand Oil Mill in the Fazalganj Industrial Area ent up in flames at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday night. The mill, now closed, was being used as a godown.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, no loss of life was reported.
A dozen fire tenders were called at the accident spot to douse the flames but they managed to reach only half an hour after the fire began.
By that time the whole building was engulfed in fire due to continuous explosions.
"There are tyres, ply, drum and paint inside. Eight fire tenders are working here and four others are on their way," said fire official Yogesh Rai.
The fire was finally brought under control this afternoon.
