A massive fire engulfed the 15th floor of the Chatterjee International Centre building near Park Street early today morning. Four fire tenders and two hydraulic ladders for rescue operations were rushed to the spot.
Fire officials said that there is less possibility of anyone being trapped in the building as the fire broke out very early, much before the working hours.
The area has been cordoned off and updates on the cause and extent of the fire are awaited.
The Chatterjee building is a landmark building in the heart of the city which houses many private and government offices.
