Firing near Afghan consulate in Karachi: Reports

Intermittent firing was heard in the vicinity of the Afghan consulate in Karachi's Old Clifton area on Monday, according to television reports.

Police and Rangers have cordoned off the highly sensitive area which is home to a number of foreign missions. A search operation is underway and efforts are being made to arrest those responsible, reports Dawn News.

Television reports citing sources claimed that a guard inside the consulate is responsible for the firing.
