Friday saw the release of two big Bollywood films - Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon-starrer 'Luka Chuppi' and 'Sonchiriya' featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar.
While 'Luka Chuppi' emerged a winner by earning Rs. 32.13 crore in its first weekend, 'Sonchiriya' failed to make a mark on the box office with only Rs. 4.60 crore.
Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office figures of both the films.
He wrote, "#LukaChuppi emerges a winner... Shows superb growth on Day 2 and 3... Biz doubles at many screens on Day 3... Has ₹ 30 cr+ weekend... Will remain strong today due to partial holiday [#Mahashivratri]... Fri 8.01 cr, Sat 10.08 cr, Sun 14.04 cr. Total: ₹ 32.13 cr. India biz."
"#SonChiriya won tremendous acclaim, but, unfortunately, it did not convert into footfalls and numbers... Did improve slightly on Day 2 and 3, but the weekend total remains extremely low... Fri 1.20 cr, Sat 1.50 cr, Sun 1.90 cr. Total: ₹ 4.60 cr. India biz," he wrote in another tweet.
Kartik and Kriti's 'Luka Chuppi' with collecting Rs. 32.13 crore in three days made it to the list of top five openers of 2019.

'Luka Chuppi' sees Kartik and Kriti as a couple who are in love and inspired by the concept of live-in relationship, decide to live together without actually tying the knot. Everything seems to be working out fine till their respective families get involved and Kartik's parents start living with them.
Meanwhile, Sushant's film is a dacoit drama, directed by Abhishek Chaubey. Set in the 1970s, 'Sonchiriya' also features Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in key roles.
