Five people were killed after their car fell into a canal of the River Narmada in Chhota Udaipur District of Gujarat on Sunday.
The dead persons were aged between 20 and 30, and were on their way to their sister's place to celebrate the sibling festival of Raksha Bandhan.
They lost control of their car, which hit the canal's fence and rolled over headlong onto the water.
They were passing through Jhakharpura Village near the Bodeli area of the district. They were on their way to Lajpura village.
The youth are yet to be identified and their bodies have been sent to a hospital in the district for post-mortem.
