The fourth bridge on the River Tawi, which was washed away by a flash flood on September 6, has been restored for use by vehicular traffic. The repair work was undertaken by the Jammu Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC).

Closure of the fourth bridge had led to traffic jams in the Jammu city. The restoration of this bridge is a great relief to traffic plying from Tallab Tillo, Bakshi Nagar and other areas along Akhnoor Road.

On September 6, flash floods in the Jammu region had washed away many bridges and roads. Now, the reconstruction work is going on, and according to the District Commissioner of Jammu, nearly 80 percent of the work has been completed.

Earlier this month, incessant rains had resulted in landslides, flash floods and rising of water level in all rivers of Jammu and Kashmir.
