Flood hit TN heaves sigh of relief, schools to reopen tomorrow

In a relief to the residents of the flood hit Tamil Nadu, there was only isolated rain in southern districts of the state as the upper air circulation has moved over the Maldives.

There was sunshine in most parts of the state. Meteorological department has forecast no heavy rain for the next few days in the southern state.

Schools and colleges which were closed for almost a month in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuarm and Cuddalore will be reopen tomorrow.

Now 23,000 cusecs of water is flowing into Sri Vaikuntam Dam and only if the inflow increases to 50,000 cusecs there will be flooding of the Thamaraparani river.

 

In Thootthukudi three NDRF teams and army teams are still deployed to face any emergency situation that arises.
