Flood-like situation in Uttar Pradesh remained grim as several districts experienced heavy rain in the past 24 hours.

The worst affected districts were Moradabad, Rampur and Udham Singh Nagar.

People in troubled villages have been vacating their homes. Those who were stranded have moved to terrace of their homes to safeguard themselves.

"We all are tensed because of the floods, our lives here are disrupted. The communication is stalled and with passing of time the water level is increasing. Probably it is going to get worse. The government should think about us, or in worst situation, we will all have to leave the village," a villager, Mohamed Nazim.

The swollen Dhela River has flooded the roads and broken connection with the nearby villages.

According to the local residents, no warning was issued by the government because of which they had to bear heavy losses as the flood water damaged most of their belongings.

Incessant rainfall has also destroyed the grains stored by the farmers.

"If the government is aware of our situation then it should help us because all of us here are in deep trouble," said another villager, Zahir Ud-Din Beg.

Moradabad has been among the worst flood-hit areas in the state.

However, at least 200 villages of four districts of Uttar Pradesh are reeling under fear of flood as the water level in different rivers is constantly rising.
