Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr has said that he suffered a suspected dislocated elbow halfway through his win over Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas.

According to the BBC, the five-weight world champion, 36, secured the WBC and WBA light-middleweight titles and stretched his unbeaten professional run to 45 fights.

The American said that he thought he dislocated his elbow but when he looked at his children, he thought he could not give up.

Coach Floyd Mayweather Senior wants his son to fight Britain's Amir Khan next, the report said.

The fighter said that his dad told him to go out there and do the best, adding that when he came back to the corner, his father told him that he was fighting a little tight and needed to loosen up.

Although his father called for former world champion Khan, 26, to be his next opponent, Mayweather insisted he was keeping his options open, the report added.
