Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh will be undertaking her first visit to Bangladesh tomorrow to review aspects of bilateral relationship between the two neighbouring countries.

"She will be meeting her counterpart the Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary, the Bangladeshi Foreign Minister, but also she will call on the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She will also meet the leader of the Bangladeshi National Party (BNP) which is Begum Khaleeda Zia, and also retired General Ershad," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said here today.

He said that the two countries have a very strong bilateral relationship.

"She will also review aspects of that bilateral relationship, and assure the Bangladeshi Government that we intend to keep engaged on all matters," he said.

The Foreign Secretary is likely to discuss the Constitution Amendment Bill on the land boundary agreement with Bangladesh.

"The Government is committed to introduce the Constitutional Amendment Bill in the forth coming session of Parliament. That will also be an area of discussion," Akbaruddin added.
