A former Islamic State (IS) member has described his reasons behind leaving the militant group saying that he has been disillusioned by the beheadings of western aid workers and journalists.
According to CBS News, Abu Ibrahim is one of the westerners who travelled to Syria to fight jihad.
Ibrahim said that a lot of people have enthusiasm about what they see online but what they see in reality is "not all military parades or it is not all victories".
He also explained how he saw crucifixions during his six months with IS militants. He also witnessed the stoning of a couple to death publically as they were convicted of adultery.
Ibrahim said that he would miss the friends that he made and the brotherhood but not IS.
