Former Nagaland minister T. Sentichuba Ao passes away

Former minister and senior Congress leader T. Sentichuba Ao passed away on Wednesday at Zion hospital in Dimapur after a brief ailment. He was 80-years-old.

The veteran legislator was first elected to the Nagaland Assembly in 1969 from Yisemyong under United Front Nagaland (UFN) ticket. He was elected six times from the same constituency.

Sentichuba, who was a pioneer social leader in various organizations, joined Congress in 1998.

Apart from being a MLA, he has also served as President of the Ao Students Conference between 1965 and 1967, and as a member of Regional Council in 1973.

He was defeated in the last State Assembly election in 2013.
