Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will join the legal team defending United States President Donald Trump in the special counsel's Russia investigation.
According to local media, President Trump is looking to bring his involvement with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation to a close. He is considering whether to sit for questioning by Mueller's team.
Earlier in March, John Dowd, the lead lawyer for US President Donald Trump in the Mueller investigation, had resigned. Giuliani fills in for Dowd.
He will be joining Jay Sekulow on Donald Trump's personal legal team.
Giuliani will also be working closely with White House lawyer Ty Cobb, who has also been handling the administration's cooperation with the Mueller investigation.
In addition to Giuliani, two other former federal prosecutors - Jane Serene Raskin and Marty Raskin - will be joining the President's team.
