A former Royal Marine Commando has smashed the UK freediving record by diving to 100 meters at Bahamas.

Michael Board broke the previous UK record for Free Immersion (FIM) of 96 meters on his fourth dive after he held his breath for more than six and a half minutes, the Mirror reports.

The annual Suunto Vertical Blue competition took place at Dean's Blue Hole, which is the world's deepest known blue hole, in Long Island of Bahamas.
